InkScroll · Effective 22 September 2026

The short version

We collect what we need to run the app: your account details, what you upload, and who you follow or pay. We do not sell your data. We do not show third-party advertising.

Questions: support@darkware.us. Effective 22 September 2026.

What we collect

Account: your email address, username, date of birth (used only to confirm you are 18 or over and to gate sensitive content), password (stored hashed, never in plain text), and optionally a bio, avatar and banner image.

Content: the comics, pages, journal posts, captions and comments you upload, including the AI disclosure flag you set on them.

Activity: who you follow, who you subscribe to, what you like, what you comment on, your genre preferences, and your reading and content settings.

Payments: if you subscribe or tip, we store a Stripe customer identifier and a record of the subscription or tip — amount, date, and the creator. We never receive your card number.

Creator payouts: if you set up payouts we store a Stripe account identifier and whether Stripe has approved you to receive funds. Your identity documents and bank details go to Stripe directly and are never held by us.

Device: if you enable notifications, a push token for your device.

Reports: if you report content, we store the report and what it referred to.

Why we use it

To run your account and show you content from creators you follow or subscribe to.

To rank your feed, using who you follow, who you subscribe to, and your chosen genres.

To take payments and pay creators.

To moderate content and enforce the content rules, including meeting our legal reporting obligations.

To send notifications you have turned on.

Who we share it with

Supabase — hosting, database, authentication and file storage.

Stripe — payments, creator payouts and identity verification. Stripe handles your card and bank details under its own privacy policy.

Expo — push notification delivery, if you enable notifications.

Law enforcement, where we are legally required to respond, and NCMEC where we are required to report child sexual abuse material.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

What other people can see

Public: your username, avatar, banner, bio, follower and subscriber counts, and any comics or journal posts you publish. Your comments are visible with your username.

Visible to you only: your email address, your date of birth, your genre preferences, your settings, who you follow, who you subscribe to, and who you have blocked.

Visible to a creator about you: if you subscribe to them, they can see that you are a subscriber and which plan. If you tip them, they can see the tip and any message you sent with it.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept until you delete your account.

Deleting your account removes your profile, content and uploaded images.

Comments become "[deleted]" placeholders rather than disappearing, so conversations underneath them remain readable. They no longer carry your name.

Payment and payout records are kept as long as tax and financial regulation requires, even after account deletion.

Moderation records are kept so that repeat behaviour can be identified.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your content at any time.

You can delete your account entirely from Settings.

You can turn each notification type on or off in Settings.

You can hide AI-generated content in Settings, and sensitive content stays hidden unless you choose otherwise.

You can block other users, and report content or users, from inside the app.

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, at support@darkware.us. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including to object to processing or to have data erased.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Your login session is stored in your device's secure keystore. Access to paid content is checked on the server, not in the app.

No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.

Children

InkScroll is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we make a significant change to this policy we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
